UDL-IRN Summit Goals

The UDL-IRN Summit is about active participation and design to achieve the following:

  • Identification and dissemination of models of best practice.
  • Identification and dissemination of effective implementation tools.
  • Supporting and expanding the implementation research base.
  • Fostering high-quality personnel preparation and professional development.
  • Promoting increased networking and collaboration across educational stakeholders.

The UDL Implementation Research Network (UDL-IRN) is hosting it’s 4th annual summit on Thursday, March 30 and Friday March 31, 2016 at the Embassy Suites Hilton in Orlando, Florida - Pre-conference sessions available on Wednesday, March 29th. The conference center is located about 20 miles from the Orlando airport and about 10 miles from Disney World. The Florida Technology & Learning Connections (TLC) Team are partnering with the UDL-IRN for Summit 2017. The TLC Team is dedicated to providing guidelines and resources to support the implementation of Universal Design for Learning in Florida schools.

The intent of this summit is to gather practitioners, leaders, researchers, vendors, and other stakeholder from across the globe to build networks that support the implementation of UDL in preschool, K-12, and higher education. For the last three years, the UDL-IRN Summit has proved to be an excellent opportunity to build professional networks, to discuss research, and to share resources and lessons learned.  This year, the summit will continue to be a unique opportunity to network and collaborate with educational leaders, practitioners, and researchers who are actively engaged in UDL implementation efforts. In addition to UDL Talks, concurrent breakout sessions, Networking Session and Design Labs, this year we will host multiple pre-conference sessions.

What past attendees say:

"The UDL Summit is the place to connect, create, and collaborate around UDL!  This is the first conference I've been
to that I didn't want to end!
Thank you so much!"

- 2016 Summit Attendee

"Some of the most fun I've had at a conference. I love the balance you've struck between playfulness and rigor, learning tons and getting inspired while having a blast.
What a concept!"
